Kat and Craig at Galleria / Project House



Kat and Craig, the warmest, most salt of the earth couple you could hope to meet, celebrated their vow renewal at Galleria (neighbour to Project Haus) in Leeds. This was a cosy, intimate gathering, perfect for documentary-style photos of people having genuine conversations and capturing all the bare emotion of the day. The venue was incredibly cool. Situated in an industrial area by the Leeds canal, our surroundings were all concrete and bare lightbulbs. Galleria has an effortlessly modern style, minimal yet comfortable, blending perfectly with its location. The staff could not have been more helpful, and the food was sensational. Huge windows on two sides of Galleria allow for beautifully dewy, naturally lit photos, with plenty of sparkle in the guests' eyes.

We nipped outside for a few five-minute bursts of portraiture, and even though we didn't spend long out there, I snapped some amazing group shots and couple poses which will last a lifetime. I quickly got to know exactly Kat and Craig and their friends' style: quirky, up for a laugh, silly but sexy, and last but not least, witchy. The shots we got really represented who they were, not who they were expected to be.

Kat and Craig are hugely spiritual, big yogis, with a wonderfully loving group of friends. Kat wore a silky jumpsuit, and Craig stunned in a fabulous suit. Their ceremony featured grounding, breathing, a hand fasting with a handmade rope, and the exchanging of meaningful gifts. It was led by their friend - if you're looking for a non-religious ceremony, a celebrant is a really good option - I'll link a celebrant directory here. The whole room was absolutely bursting with love. Speeches featured heartfelt words, a song, poetry, and even a flipchart! It was wonderfully unique.
